Baby Amelia
Mummy and I decided to create a "Paris" theme for this particular photograph. During a session, apart from the usual "blanket" posed shots. I try to create something that Mum and Dad love. With this particular session we were even blessed to get some incredible outdoor shots too. And another setup on top of the "Paris" theme.
Some of the little ones I couldn't share before Christmas
Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas, beautiful little 8 week old! Slept better than some newborns!
I have taken some very rare time off this Christmas and sat watching tv and spending time with the family. It truly has been lovely.

New products for 2014
Bespoke print boxes with mounted prints
All too often these days, everyone is in a rush to get a disk of images. Sometimes they get printed off okay, sometimes you lose all the tiny little details of contrast and colour, moving away from wanting as much as possible to offering bespoke handmade print boxes, containing 15 perfectly mounted prints with an easel for you to display - or frame. The choice is yours. A tactile product featuring captured memories of your gorgeous family.

The totally manic run up to Christmas began probably around October which has made me seem very quiet! In fact it couldn't be further from the truth. Hoping to share some beautiful images from a few different sessions over the next couple of days! Love my job, love capturing cherished family memories.
A while ago, I had these little fella's in, they were photographed on their due date, having been in special care for a while. I wanted to create something a little different, so aside from the normal type of poses lying together, my lovely lady at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Crandoncrafts/339131336100371?directed_target_id=0 crocheted these hats up for me at very short notice.

Newborn scrumminess
Newborn photography can be very hit and miss, you set guidelines when you know
babies are likely to sleep, and then baby comes along and does what it wants to do.
This precious little bundle I think in two sessions we were nearly at 7 hours, but
it really was worth it. Gorgeous memories for Mummy and Daddy.

Just every so often you see something that makes you pause, and hug your own family a little tighter.
Since becoming a Butterfly Wishes Photographer http://www.butterflywishesnetwork.co.uk/ my eyes have been opened to so many devastating illnesses. Neuroblastoma is one such illness, its a very aggressive cancer, and once a child relapses in the UK, there is no second chance of treatment. There are various online petitions (you only need 100,000 signatures so my local MP's secretary told me), not much eh, to get the Government to take notice, and bless they are on break at the moment.
Sadly cancer waits for no-one, and little children like Mackenzie don't have a chance to wait either.
I cannot imagine, knowing that their is treatment and I suddenly have to raise a staggering sum of money to try to save my child's life. Even more so when other Countries pay for this treatment, I am not quite sure why 100,000 signatures should convince the UK Government to look at the issue or bring the relapse protocol in sooner than is planned. Surely this is what every person across the Country must want? No child should be left to die over money.
So if you take a minute to read this, please take a minute to give to Mackenzie, either if it is just a pound, or sharing her page.
Help prove to Mackenzie and her family that miracles can happen.

Meet sweet little Princess Amelia
This is 3 different shots transformed to look like baby is holding herself up, lots of photoshop work involved, but you have to agree she really is a Princess x
My little munchkin!
In between the newborns, and shoots, its nice to take time out to do one thing a day which makes your heart sing.

The joy of being able to choose to work inside or out! Making the most of it as last Summer was a bit of a wash out to say the least. Before you try this at home, or throw your hands up in horror - see Mum? No you can't, but she was in that right hand side of the picture, as always, newborn safety is a priority. Never, ever, ever is baby at any risk of falling out. Or falling off. Thank the lord for photoshop!
Peace and Love!A little newborn scrumminess. There is something so perfect in all children. But little bundles of goodness, I love photographing newborns, and try to make each session bespoke. This gorgeous little cherub, Mummy wanted something a little bit more boho. Personally in love with this image (and the beautiful little model)!
Very blessed child 3 just panders to our impromptu photo shoots. "Come on then"! Doesn't even roll her eyes yet!
Life is just so so busy at the moment, its hard to catch your breath at times. I have been taking the odd bit of time out to spend with my gorgeous children, life is just so precious and working every hour, may make my clients happy but its time I don't get back with my children.
My beautiful littlest monkey on our evening walk, she makes me smile so much.
Amelia-Mae appeal
I love children so so much, I am blessed to have my children. I can't imagine myself being in this situation, that there is a treatment, but its not available in the UK, and not available elsewhere without this money, this family need to raise lots of money and quickly. Please help.

I will be running an auction for a newborn shoot, worth £500 including disk with ALL the images and a canvas, the money will all go to the Fraja appeal, raising money to send a very sweet little girl to the States for a treatment she cannot get here, please pop over to her page, or if you are booked for a shoot I will run this for the next four weeks, the highest bid will win the shoot and ALL proceeds will go to this appeal. Please take a moment to check out and share this little girls page. Lets help get her over to the States.
I LOVE what I do! It shows in my work, you can see the composite images if a baby is perched in my studio looking like it is sleeping beautifully you can guarantee, there is a hand under the bottom, or holding the head, I cannot state enough - the reasons you go to a professional are because they have the experience to look after your baby. The reasons I don't do one hour newborn shoots are you just can't rush, if I was rushing to take as many photographs as possible, then I may take shortcuts, and I just don't, a newborn shoot takes 3-5 hours. And then there is the editing, the cleaning and washing of blankets. I spend hours and hours making each shoot perfect, this is why I don't charge £20! Would you? I know there are plenty of people out there who snap some shots off and burn them to disk for £60. And thats great, some people are happy with that, however when you pay me for my time, you get above and beyond that, I am not just a photographer, I am an artist, I produce fine art images of your family, and I pour a little bit of my heart and soul into every image I take.
Always having the bit of food with hairs in or chewy gristly bits of meat and the latest food scare, decided the time for me to go vegetarian, so today, I thought I would try some make pretend bacon today, (rhymes with dawn)! So my blog today is about my experience with said piece of "bacon" looked a bit like a pink insole out of a welly boot, when fried looked a bit like a burnt insole from a wellly boot, and when consumed tasted pretty much the same I think! Missing my meat.com!
Tracy and her bunnies! After an initial email and thinking someone was pulling maybe a joke, it turned out that this lady was indeed real, and one of the nicest people I think I have ever met! Bunny mad, and with one of the biggest hearts I think there is, these Bunnies have a truly devoted owner and the most loving home, I would certainly look again if ever one of my children wanted a rabbit, whether I could indeed give it the love and attention this lady does, click on the link above (Tracy and her bunnies!) to take you onto her website and see the amazing work this young lady is doing. I am humbled to have met her.
Waiting on the snow to fall so I can get outside, I have so many ideas for a special snow shoot! Hopefully it will combine with my 7 year old wanting to comply!
For anyone looking at my pricing, I have just put my prices up slightly, I am sure you have seen many posts about photographers paying out for this and that and training, and getting a fair wage. I certainly am not the most expensive, and I am not the cheapest. I usually spend a week to 14 days editing a whole one hour session. Some photographers put 50 images up, some put them all up, my disk price includes over 100 fully edited images. And I do devote a lot of time and love to perfecting those images for my clients, so hopefully if you are a potential client looking at my work, you will take the time to flick through and see just how much work I put in to making photos beautiful. I could run countless discounted mini sessions, but frankly I don't want to rush peoples work and turn out mass produced photographs - thats just me! And I am not knocking anyone who does mini sessions, I will do the odd day throughout the year, and I feel there is a market for photographers whose pricing is cheaper, I am sure there is a photographer out there for everyone, you just need to find the one whose work you fall in love with.
I would just like to wish everyone a Happy New Year, photographed so many lovely people in 2012, and made lots of friends, feel so blessed to do the job that I do, its certainly not a year since my business has been running, and learning the business skills I need as I go along, my style in the last few months is continuously evolving, and even though editing styles come and go, I tend to produce what I like, so what you see is what you get, what will never change is my need to perfect everything and provide my clients with photographs to wow generations to come. My love of photography and making beautiful images has always been paramount.
Wishing everyone, clients, fellow photographers and friends that 2013 brings a whole year full of love, laughter, happiness and good health x
